Ponder, won't you...

The similarities of the fork and the comb.

The fork poses some issues: it is difficult to get through one's hair. It is also difficult to say "fork", so we just call it a "spoon"

It doesn't help that they are the same color.

A dilemma for anyone, really!

Our Second Anniversary

How is it possible that it has only been 2 years? I went from 2 cats and a glass of wine to 4 kids and a sippy cup of milk! Paul and I went on a date to celebrate!

Just like looking in the mirror

This is my very own Simpsons Avatar. You know, I don't even like the Simpsons, they are totally inappropriate, I would never let my children watch them (but my husband would!), yada, yada. But come on! This is funny!

More visiting!

This has been such a busy week for visitors! Yesterday Hannah and I went to Edmonton to have lunch with Candy. While we were there eating fantastic chicken salad sandwiches, her nephew Ben came over to share his toys and say hello! Candy also shared her toys and Hannah had great fun picking up all of Candy's treasures and putting them in her mouth. We left Candy's house a little slobbier (I know this is not a word, but really it should be!) and stickier than it was when we arrived! Hannah even got to open a present! Candy made her this beautiful blanket!

Fun New Game

A favorite new game at our house is "move the water bottles". If any of you have spare time on your hands you might want to give it a try. Here's how it goes: 1. Pick up a bottle (this can be difficult when the bottle is 1/10 of your body weight and apparently requires a lot of grunting and groaning!) 2. Hand the bottle to the person sitting beside you. Said person is required to say "thank you" each time this happens. 3. Repeat until injury occurs and crying ensues (darn those slippery bottles!)

Grandma & Grandpa come for a visit!

The craziness begins! Sure, grandparents look innocent enough but what started as a nice, calm visit ended in mayhem. Nutty new tricks were taught by Grandpa and messy new foods were introduced by Grandma.

First Soccer Game of the Season!

Cassie had her first game last Saturday and had a great time! She scored a goal and did a little directing (I'm sure the coach was grateful for her input!). The 102 degree heat made it a little less fun for some of us.

Animal Sounds

Who knew that the sheep sound and the horse sound were so similar?

A Play in One Act

Last night Holly adapted the book "I Am Invited to a Party" by Mo Williams into a screenplay. Cassie played the part of Piggie, I was Gerald, Holly was the director and costume designer.

Christian was the photographer. While we were pouring our heart and soul into the production this is what he was doing. This is the reason we don't have any other pictures.

A Visit to Libby's

Yesterday Hannah and I went calling on our dear friend Libby. Hannah had her first piano lesson with Sophie (Libby's daughter), she played with blocks and Legos, and went exploring with Libby's husband, Lloyd. They are such gracious hosts and we always have a great time there!

I'll Apologize Now

#1-For the Elmo Chicken Dance song which will remain in your head for the next 24 hours.

#2- For the high, squeaky "mommy voice" that I try not to use often- really!

Last day of Summer!

We did some celebratory trampoline tricks and twola-hooping (that's hula hooping with 2 hula hoops for you laymen!) I have figured out how to post videos so just click on the arrow to see Christian in action!
